A bow window is a structural install, not a drop-in unit. Because it projects out and carries the wall above, it has to be supported properly — this is where a specialist crew earns its keep, and where cheaper installs go wrong.

A bow spans a wide opening and carries the wall above it. We frame a correctly sized header so the unit is fully supported and the arc stays true for the life of the window.
Seat Board & Knee Brackets
Because the unit projects out past the wall, it is supported from below by an insulated seat board and, where needed, decorative or structural knee brackets — so it never sags over time.
Bow Roof / Skirt When Exposed
When a bow is not tucked under an eave, it needs a small sloped roof (or skirt) above to shed rain and snow. We build and flash it properly so water never finds its way in.
