WindowFixers.ca FAQ — vinyl window questions answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our custom vinyl windows — from products and pricing to installation and warranties.

General

We supply, sell and install custom vinyl (uPVC) windows for residential and commercial properties. Every window is custom-ordered to your exact opening from trusted Canadian suppliers and professionally installed by our own crew — one accountable local team from quote to finished install.
No. We are a specialist supplier and installer. We custom-order premium vinyl windows from established Canadian manufacturers to your precise measurements, then handle the full installation ourselves. This lets us focus on perfect fit, expert installation and personal customer service.
We serve the entire Greater Toronto Area north to Barrie — including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Aurora, King City, Innisfil, Bradford, and all communities in between. We are based in Newmarket, so York Region and Simcoe County get especially fast service.
Over a decade. WindowFixers.ca is a family-owned company that grew almost entirely through referrals and repeat customers who appreciated our fair pricing, honest advice and quality workmanship.

Products & Styles

We offer every major style: casement, awning, slider, single-hung, double-hung, picture (fixed), bay and bow combinations, and custom-shaped windows (arches, circles, trapezoids and more). All are available in white vinyl with a range of interior colour options and glass packages.
Vinyl (uPVC) is the best value for the Canadian climate. It never needs painting, will not rot, warp or corrode, and its multi-chambered frame is an excellent insulator. Paired with Low-E, argon-filled glass, vinyl windows deliver outstanding energy efficiency and decades of maintenance-free performance — at a lower price point than wood.
Absolutely. Because every window we sell is custom-ordered to your exact measurements, we can accommodate virtually any shape or size — standard rectangles, arched tops, circles, trapezoids, and specialty combinations. There are no standard-size compromises.
We offer double-pane and triple-pane insulated glass units with Low-E coatings and argon gas fill as standard. Upgrades include obscure/frosted glass for privacy, tempered safety glass, laminated glass, and decorative grille patterns (colonial, prairie and custom designs).

Pricing & Quotes

Yes. Fill out our quote form or call (647) 865-3371 and we will schedule a free in-home consultation at a time that works for you. We measure every opening, review your style and glass options, and give you an upfront, all-in price — with no pressure and no obligation.
Pricing depends on the number of windows, their sizes, the style (casement, slider, etc.), glass package and any special features. Because we buy direct from manufacturers and install with our own team, we cut out the middleman markup. We quote honestly and competitively — no inflated list prices followed by fake discounts.
We can discuss flexible payment arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Ask us during your free consultation and we will do our best to find a plan that works for your budget.
A deposit is required when you confirm your order, since every window is custom-manufactured to your specifications. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the installation. Exact terms are outlined clearly in your quote.

Installation

Once your custom windows arrive (typically 3–5 weeks after measurement), most homes are completed in one to three days depending on the number of windows. We handle removal of the old units, installation, sealing, insulation and full cleanup.
Yes — always. We never subcontract our installations. Our own trained crew handles every job from start to finish, so quality and accountability stay in one pair of hands.
We remove and replace one window at a time, so your home is never left open for long. Each new window is fully sealed and insulated before we move on to the next. We also monitor weather forecasts and will reschedule if conditions are unfavourable.
We remove all old windows and materials from your home and dispose of them responsibly. You do not need to arrange any cleanup — we leave your home tidy.
Yes. Modern sealants and installation techniques work effectively in cold weather. We take extra precautions in winter — working on one window at a time and using low-temperature expanding foam — to ensure a proper seal regardless of the season.

Energy Efficiency

In most cases, yes — significantly. If your current windows are single-pane, aluminum-framed, or have failed seals (fog between the panes), upgrading to modern Low-E, argon-filled vinyl windows can noticeably reduce heating and cooling costs and make your home more comfortable year-round.
Low-E (low-emissivity) glass has a microscopic metallic coating that reflects heat back toward its source — keeping warmth inside in winter and outside in summer — while still letting natural light through. All our standard glass packages include Low-E coatings.
Yes. The windows we supply meet or exceed ENERGY STAR® Canada requirements for our climate zone, so you can be confident they deliver real energy savings.

Warranty & Maintenance

Every window we install comes with the manufacturer's warranty — typically a transferable limited lifetime warranty on the vinyl frame and a long-term warranty on the sealed glass unit. We also stand behind our own installation workmanship. Full warranty details are provided with your quote.
Vinyl windows are virtually maintenance-free. Clean the frames and glass with mild soap and water a couple of times a year, lubricate the hardware and weatherstripping annually, and keep the weep holes (small drainage slots on the outside) clear of debris. That is all it takes.
Call us at (647) 865-3371 or email [email protected]. We stand behind our work and will address any concern promptly — that is the advantage of dealing with a local, family-owned company rather than a faceless call centre.
